Un chien andalou (English: An Andalusian Dog) is a sixteen-minute surrealist film made in France in 1929 by writer/directors Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí. It is one of the best-known surrealist films of the French avant-garde film movement of the 1920s. American film critic Roger Ebert has called Un chien andalou "the most famous short film ever made, and anyone halfway interested in the cinema sees it sooner or later, usually several times."
Critics have suggested that Un chien andalou can be understood as a typically Buñuelian anti-bourgeois, anticlerical piece. The man dragging a piano, donkey and priests has been interpreted as an allegory of man's progress towards his goal being hindered by the baggage of society's conventions that he is forced to bear. Likewise, the image of an eyeball being sliced by a razor can be understood as Buñuel "attacking" the film's viewers.
In spite of these varying interpretations, Buñuel made clear throughout his writings, that between Dalí and himself, the only rule for the writing of the script was that "no idea or image that might lend itself to a rational explanation of any kind would be accepted."Moreover, he stated that, "Nothing, in the film, symbolizes anything. The only method of investigation of the symbols would be, perhaps, psychoanalysis."
Film scholar Ken Dancyger has argued that Un chien andalou might be the genesis of the filmmaking style present in the modern music video. Roger Ebert has called it one of the first low budget independent films.
A 2005 advert for Stella Artois was heavily inspired by the film. The advert's most direct reference is a shot of a cracked egg from which ants emerge.

“The Feather and the Egg are rich in iconic symbolism. Native Americans frequently found and used the feather as a totem and/or for mystical or religious purposes. It is
a symbol or connection to being lighter than air or to flying. The egg is a symbol of birth and/or to the earth. Nothing is more primal than the egg and the feather. They are
both simple and elegant icons for Father and Mother…the SPIRIT and it's opposite the EARTH. “

EGG FU launched his diabolical plans for world conquest in Wonder Woman #158 (November 1965). HEEEE -- HO! What a story it is! The Oriental Egghead traps Wonder Woman and her boyfriend Steve Trevor in his "mustache trap" -- or, as Eggy says it, his "mustache tlap."
You see, old Egghead can't pronounce certain English letters very well, so the dialogue is kind of... phonetic. For example, "trap" is pronounced... "tlap." Offensive? Embarrassing? Politically incorrect to the ultimate degree? HA! That's just the beginning.
Here it is -- a story that breaks the bounds of reality, ignores the laws of physics, and shatters all boundaries of political correctness. Sit back in bemused horror as writer/creator Robert Kanigher and artists Ross Andru and Mike Esposito take us on a fun-filled march to Cold War victory in "The Fury of Egg Fu!" and The SINISTER SCHEME of EGG FU THE FIFTH!" Cracked Eggs & Noodles 'Pasongsong Gyerantak' (2005) is a South Korean comedy by Director O Sang-hun with Im Chang-jeong and Lee In-seong. As Of Love and Eggs it was one of four Korean movies screened at the 2006 International Fajr Film Festival in Iran. Rating: 12+
Review from Seoul Selection:
This touching comedy overlapped with a sense of pathos deals with the friendship between a man and a boy. It's suggestive title refers to ramyeon (instant noodles called "ramen" in Japan) and literally translates to "chopping scallions into small pieces and cracking an egg" (scallions and eggs are the most favored ingredients for ramyeon lovers in Korea). An advocate of sex, but not of marriage, bachelor Daegyu (played by singer-turned-actor Im Changjeon), 26, produces bootleg music albums for a living. One day, he comes across a plucky, nine-year-old boy named Jeon Ingwon (played by Lee Inseong) who insists that he is Daegyu's son born out of wedlock. Daegyu tries every possible means to send the bold boy back to where he came from, including reporting him to the police, deserting him on the street and even pretending not to have known him, but to no avail. Ingwon makes an offer to Daegyu: he will leave him forever if they first travel across the country together. During the journey, Daegyu comes to learn Ingwon's secret and finds a reason not to continue their cross-land journey.
